We dance our joy Barefoot upon thorns The sun burns our pain In tears of glistening sweat

We speak of love

With hatred in our hearts

Bitter like the sweet salt of the sea

We march forth

To the beginning of our end

Pride is hard to swallow on an empty stomach

We brave death in fear

Of the beauty of sunset

We breathe the dawn of grief

In the fading summer clouds

Vengeance of fatherless children

Walk the streets of prostitution

With blazing guns

Under the scorching sun

Fools search for greater fools to admire

Ghost birds break into song

In search of their lost homes

Every tree is a story

And the wind the story teller
