Students do not pass muster: iLIVE

Dr Peter Baker, Parktown North | 31 January, 2012 00:21

That a student can achieve a pass with a paltry 30% to 40% knowledge of the material required and end up in university is really a joke.

The pass rate used to be 60%. University professors indicate that they are presented with a lecture hall full of students who do not have the faintest idea how to learn. The professors have to do a catch-up to get students with a hope of achieving a university degree up to speed.

How can anyone expect to progress in any subject knowing less than half of what is required?
