Prison marriage is just a sham: iLIVE
With reference to your article "Killer weds in jail" (February 10), I don't see any problem with it as long as the convict does not become entitled to special privileges as a result of getting married in jail.
A honeymoon , long walks on the beach and the usual newlywed activities will be a figment of the convict's imagination so long as he remains behind bars.
With no contact visits, let alone conjugal rights, how much substance can there really be in such marriages?
Though it might appear insensitive to the victims of the crimes perpetrated by the convict, I feel the marriage certificate is not worth the paper on which it is written.
