Land poser here to stay: iLIVE

Wilby, Benoni | 17 February, 2012 00:55

As time passes, the need for land will grow. Our population today is eight times bigger than it was 100 years ago. Debating our history seems quite futile. How far do we go back?

If someone from another continent can prove through DNA tests they have similar genes to Mrs Ples, does that entitle them to the whole of Gauteng?

We must also remember our history was recorded by colonists who were the only ones who could read and write in those days. We also need to understand things were very different in those days. Ask any old-timer what life was like 50 or 60 years ago.

The bottom line is that we rely on our land for our food. We already know what a shambles some of our state departments are in due to incompetent people running them. Let's not make the same mistake with our farms. I don't want to die of starvation.
