Gordhan trying to strong arm us on e-tolls: iLIVE

Pravin Gordhan is trying to strong arm us into submission. Do we not live in a democracy. Have the people not spoken loud and clear? We through public refusal to purchase e-toll tags have staked our claim on our right to object.
Trying to hoodwink us into believing a concession is being made by "reducing the cost of a toll to 30c", yet increasing petrol by 28c and vat by a yet to be determined amount is cutting the hand that feeds the mouth. In reality there is no concession, only threats and strong arm tactics.
I am a little tired of these threats from people whom we the public have put in to serve us. They are NOT in power, they are public servants and should be reminded of that.
The people say:" No to tolls". We pay enough taxes, only to see it stolen from our coffers via corruption. There have been enough billions stolen amounting to trillions and trillions that could make every South African a lottery winner.
There should be a website with a hall of shame, listing all the billions stolen from our hands, from our people, listing all the perpetrators and under whose watch they were stolen.
E-tolls is just another way of stealing from the people. 60 odd cents from the rand going to a foreign country. Seriously???? Who was the idiot that came up with a system where 80% of the expense is on an accounting system to pilfer from the people? Does the Government think that we were born yesterday?
As for the economist (Dr Roelof Botha) who is the Lone ranger singing its praises on how it going to benefit the people. I don't believe even Tonto would stand behind him. I think that there are a lot more economists who have worked the sums in a more objective manner that speak the truth.
We should always keep in mind that you can sell anything if you manipulate the figures in a light you want to see it by. The reality is that between the R550 cap and the 28c (if you have an 60 litre tank and you fill up once a week that is and extra R16.80 which is an extra R67.20 per month).
So its actually closer to R617.20, well that is of course if you only fill up 4 times a month. So in actual fact its " I'm giving your arm back but taking your hand and your leg away" syndrome. Thanks Pravin, thanks for finding another way to steal from us. You are a disappointment.
