Budget bombs social concerns: iLIVE
The budget was good, but there are concerns. In order of priority they are:
Year after year billions are allocated to departments but, sadly, these funds are wasted by the gross inefficiency and incompetence of ministers;
Health: the situation is so dire that hospitals can't buy food for patients, drugs and life-support equipment;
Education: too many children (particularly in rural areas) still attend classes under trees;
RDP houses are hovels worse than the matchboxes so derided before 1994;
Finally, I am concerned about the 20c/l levy increase on petrol. This is inflationary and will hit poor households hard.
