Daylight robbery by 'lying' Sanral: iLIVE

Phillip Nel, Senderwood | 17 April, 2012 00:22

Sanral never organised meetings with ratepayer association s or taxpayer forums to discuss the implications and impact of e-tolls.

A vote was never taken as to whether ordinary citizens would be happy about the tolls.

Sanral either lied to or deceived the public into believing the new road s were solely for the benefit of the 2010 Fifa World Cup. Sanral has conveniently allowed taxi s and buses not to pay for the tolls as it knew there would be severe repercussions .

The company is in collusion with the government to ensure e-tolls are pushed through regardless. It is expecting us to pay for roads that are incomplete. Sanral has not taken into account the number of sales representatives who use the highways daily.

If it were an honest company, it would have asked the government to raise the money through licences or the fuel levy. Sanral is trying to force its will on the people of a democratically elected government.
