Treat Julius like ordinary citizen: iLIVE
Should Julius Malema's finances be public knowledge ("Juju: One day I'll be president", May 15)?
Malema is not a government official, and he should not be treated as a public figure. He is an ordinary citizen who happened to lead a powerful youth wing of the ruling party, and should be treated as such.
The public protector's office should investigate all individuals who have wealth that warrants investigation, and must treat that information as confidential, unless it is proven in court that such wealth was acquired through corruption.
If Malema is found guilty of corruption, his finances can be made public.
