No hope of banning painting from the internet: iLIVE
Allow me to save the ruling party from even more heartbreak and despair by discouraging it from trying to control the internet in what would just amount to a futile attempt to protect President Jacob Zuma's dignity.
When China wanted Google not to display certain information, the mega search engine simply refused.
The ANC must accept the controversial freedom that it has granted artists by means of our constitution.
Trying to ban work by our artists would only fire up additional interest in these creations.
Trying to control the internet would be even more futile than if the ruling party thought it could collect a new e-toll penalty from users who googled The Spear.
Austrian companies could not even hope to monitor internet use effectively for every page visited.
Let this one go, Zuma.
Take it on the chin, instead of trying to censor the most enormous free network in history.
