In A Perfect World: Poem

This is my latest poem which i thought I should share with most people, in light of all that's going on around us.

In a perfect world there are no margins, no divisions and class
There is no slave, no dictator, no k***r or baas
Governments govern with dignity and with pride
There is no room in which poverty can reside
Colours complement each other and do not divide
No culture tramples another, all tribes walk side by side

In a perfect world no child has his final dwelling in the gutter
And every new born has his first tear wiped by a loving mother
Children have no fear of being stripped of their innocence as they play on the street
Old women spend their days telling stories as generations gather at their feet

In a perfect world even the thunder whispers as the skies pour down blessings
Men do not delight in making mistakes but treasure life’s lessons
There is no ridicule, no oppression and no hate
In a perfect world no man is turned away from his brother’s gate
Religions co-exist and God is in all
All cries are answered and there are no voices too small

In a perfect world no blood is shed for a gallon of oil
And every man gets a fair wage for his time and his toil
There are no incurable diseases, no hunger and pain
And people do not sell their souls to the devil in order to gain

In a perfect world acceptance and love are natural traits
No need for heroes to fight those threatening our fates
In a perfect world life is joyful and death is not tragic
There is no need for imaginary worlds of fairies and magic

In a perfect world, things would be perfect
We would all be deserving of honour, forgiveness and respect
No man would be on death row and no victims awaiting justice
No wars and genocides, all nations would know peace in a perfect world...

But this world is not perfect: it’s hard and it’s cruel
Dreams of a perfect world only make you a fool
if only we’d all be foolish enough just to believe then maybe...
A perfect world is what we’d achieve
