ANCYL must prove they are not a one-man show: iLIVE

The ANC Youth League is making a costly mistake by flogging the dead horse that is Julius Malema ("Zuma foils Malema's ANC comeback bid", June 12).

Instead of tackling real issues affecting young people, such as unemployment and HIV/Aids, they are still sulking about one man with questionable sources of income.

Are they trying to say none among them is good enough to lead the youth league? Or are they paralysed by personality cults in which blind followers are prepared to sacrifice everything for an individual at the expense of the general membership?

Malema's political life in the ANC has been permanently terminated; no amount of antics will resuscitate him. He wrote his own obituary, and dug his own political grave.

Maybe at another time, and in another life, but not in our lifetime will he ever again lead the youth league.
