In response to Professor Jonathan Jansen's column, 'An Ugly Side to Ugie' (June 14, 2012).

Chris and Linie Gouws are dear friends to my parents and even to my self. It saddens me to have to share this tragedy with my parents and the community.

Our hearts are broken and we hope that someone is going to do something about this as we can’t continue like this. Who is next? And are we going to get the support from our police? We all have lost faith in the policing of this country.

I hope someone is going to take responsibility for this and that thing will improve especially up in Ugie.

My heart goes out to the Gouws family.
