Birth of new demon: iLIVE

Just when we thought one political rabble-rouser in the mould of Julius Malema was buried, another one breaks through the earth like a worm ready to take his place.

The new sparkplug of incendiary politics is Irvin Jim, secretary-general of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa, the second-largest affiliate of Cosatu. He is tipped to take over as secretary-general of Cosatu from Zwelinzima Vavi, the most important position in labour politics. Jim has recently irked with repeated calls for everything to be nationalised and for reappropriation of land without compensation - a recipe for anarchy.

Behind the political facades of polished veneers , plastic smiles and verbal placebos, frantic lobbying has already begun.

Another demon of the ANC is born. How much trouble he gives the parent body remains to be seen.
