Zuma is sleeping: iLIVE

President Jacob Zuma said he has sleepless nights about poverty ("SA at boiling point, Zuma warns ANC", June 27).

We rely on him and his government to get service delivery into poverty-stricken areas, to sort out unemployment, education and health.

However, he should also be having sleepless nights about the rampant corruption in every corner of this land - in every municipality, among the police, the health department, the education department, home affairs, and so on. The list is endless.

When thinking of the billions, not millions, lost by the tsunami of corruption, one wants to beat one's head against the proverbial brick wall. That money could be used to achieve a lot more for the poor.

Zuma could also redo his ministerial handbook and stop ministers from buying top-of-the-range cars, staying in expensive hotels and wasting taxpayers' money.
