The Immortal: Poem
Run, old man run!! Chanted the masses as they sang and stomped the ground.
Old men like you have given up the ropes and retired, now it’s your time to go.
Brave young men are ready to take over and lead, continued the chant.
Evade the embarrassing chop and leave now, your time is up!
Run for your life and never resist or you will cease to exist
Time is up pack your bags and go, your name has been called!!
Me run? Never! Go tell your brave young men to come forth I am waiting. I told them.
Unfazed by their calls I walked forth to confront them and they all crumbled like cookies.
Governments have fallen and I the strong one am still standing, stronger than ever.
Active and able-bodied men like me don’t just walk away, we are immortal.
Britain and America all tried and I swatted and squashed them like little flies.
Every man and his dog should know I am Bob the immortal and I won’t be robbed.
