Foolproof books system worked: iLIVE

I'm always amazed at the problems regarding the costly purchase of new textbooks every year. I taught for many years and we had a fool proof system. The subject teacher issued the books to pupils, recording this on a class list . The pupil was then responsible for the use and care of the book for the year.

At the end of the year, the books were collected and ticked off on the class list. The pupil paid for any book lost or damaged, and the books were available for the following year.

It is an unnecessary burden on the taxpayer to buy textbooks every year.
