Fine discount for officials?: iLIVE
A man doing 180km/h plus in a 120km/h area in a Porsche - and found to be lying to the arresting officer - gets fined R1500.
While on my way back from Western Cape on a national highway, going through Colesburg, I was fined R2500 for doing what I thought was the speed limit of 120km/h (it is 80km/h).
I accept that I am guilty.
But a highly placed government official does 120km/h in a built-up area in Johannesburg, where the speed limit is 80km/h, and he gets off from paying a fine.
