Municipalities ace theft, little else: iLIVE

Another shocking audit for our municipalities ("AG red-flags 95% of municipalities", yesterday).

The 2012-2013 period will be just as bad, if not worse.

Is no one competent enough to end this theft by municipal officials?

R10-billion of taxpayers' money is unaccounted for.

We can assume the one area of supreme competence in municipalities is theft.

Let it not be forgotten that this is taxpayers' money - including the VAT all citizens have to pay.

We are paying people to steal our money. How can Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Richard Baloyi fail to do anything about this shocking situation?

Endless meetings don't help. Fire the incompetents.
