Malala is a 'something' man: iLIVE

Greg Ivins, Newlands | 07 August, 2012 00:10
President Jacob Zuma, Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe, ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe and party spokesman Jackson Mthembu celebrate Zuma's 70th birthday in this file photo.

Well said, Justice Malala ("Day of the Nothing Men", yesterday).

This said it all: "They are nothing men. They are men of the stage: rich in talk and rhetoric, but incapable of action."

Your column underlines the arrogance of these men who celebrate while this beautiful country descends into chaos. Shame on them. - Lionel, by e-mail

WRITTEN without fear or favour, Malala's column gives an accurate analysis of the dismal leadership crisis that plagues the ANC today. For a government to handle the textbook fiasco in the manner in which it did - all talk and no action - highlights the contempt it has for its citizens.

One also has to ask why our president is so tolerant of appointees who fail at their jobs . The public should demand more of their leaders and realise that they are not "untouchable gods", but are here to serve the people.

Well done again, Malala. You said what needed to be said.
