Poor driving skills are to blame: iLIVE

It is perhaps a good idea to reduce blood-alcohol levels even further ("One beer might be enough to jail you", August 6), but I think it is poor driving skills that cause accidents.
How many vehicles does one encounter hogging the overtaking lanes, forcing faster vehicles to do the unthinkable of overtaking on the left?
Defensive driving is not taught, judging by how many drivers assume the right of way simply by virtue of the size of their SUV.
Stop signs are considered as yield signs at best. My advice to authorities is they should concentrate on better coaching for learner drivers.
Then we may just reduce the road carnage.
