Why Downs are a downer: ILIVE

It is shocking to discover that Siyanda Xulu's opportunity to ply his trade overseas has been dealt a serious blow due to unreasonable demands from Mamelodi Sundowns ("Let Xulu go - and grow", August 14).

This is the same club that promised to develop players for the national team.

However, at this rate very few players will want anything to do with Sundowns.

Last season Katlego Mphela was refused a chance to improve his football at the biggest league in the world, the English Premier League, and the next thing he was used sparingly by the technical team.

Mulomowandau Mathoho must be saluted for refusing to join Sundowns.

Maybe his dream would also have been deferred.

This club is becoming synonymous with destroying young players.
