What is it about certain of our judges that leads them to believe they are above the law ("Hlophe case to be considered Friday", August 23)?

Judge John Hlophe is accused of bias in favour of Jacob Zuma. Judge Nkola Motata has for nearly four years been trying to avoid a sentence for drunken driving.

On the face of it their actions have done the image of the judiciary untold harm. Judges must at all times set an example of trustworthiness and honour.
