Evil is evil wherever it is: iLIVE

Dr Sibusiso Ndlovu, Port Elizabeth | 05 September, 2012 00:09
Tony Blair commands a generous fee

I would like to applaud Joan Beags for bringing attention to the fact that South Africans face problems of our own on all fronts.

Certainly, the people of South Africa should be protesting and demanding that the government tackle corruption firmly, create jobs and improve service delivery in all sectors.

However, Beags' condemnation of the attempt to place former British prime minister Tony Blair under citizen's arrest, and her labelling of it as "un-South African", is naive.

She needs to understand that South Africans have to speak out in favour of justice, be it locally or internationally.

There were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and the invasion had no link to 9/11. Thousands of innocent Iraqis were killed by a Western "moral" force only wanting to exploit its mineral wealth. Evil is evil wherever it is: iLIVE

Not to speak out against such criminality and have Blair speak at a leadership summit is "un-South African".

Blair and former US president George W Bush should face charges for crimes against humanity.

Congratulations to Desmond Tutu for standing up for justice.
