No unity in the unions: iLIVE

The National Union of Mineworkers is reportedly awaiting confirmation from the police that the man found dead near striking workers at Marikana on Tuesday ("Death no deterrent to strikers", yesterday) was one of its shop stewards.

If this proves to be true, the worker's blood is on Julius Malema's hands because he continues to incite violence, calling for illegal strikes every month and for workers to revolt against the NUM.

Where is Zwelinzima Vavi when members of Cosatu are killed and victimised ? What has happened to the slogan "an injury to one is an injury to all"? Who will protect Cosatu's unions if its leadership is silent ?

How much blood must be shed before real solidarity is pledged with workers who want to work, but are killed by criminals disguised as militant workers?
