Drysdale is a dedicated educator: iLIVE

Grace M, by e-mail | 14 September, 2012 00:05

I find the case against Rivonia Primary headmistress Carol Drysdale confusing ("Rivonia principal forced into guilty plea", yesterday). That she is being disciplined at all for simply doing her job efficiently is a disgrace.

Here we have a well-run, fully functional school strictly "dealt with" by the Gauteng education department while principals at other schools get away with virtual murder. Surely the department should start by disciplining principals and teachers who arrive at school drunk, rape pupils, bunk classes and couldn't care about the children they teach?

The parent whose child is at the centre of the row fought for her child to be admitted because she wanted her child to get a "good education".

Drysdale's dedication has been rewarded with a slap in the face.
