Pityana ignores achievements: iLIVE

Sthe Mkhize, ANC Umlazi | 27 September, 2012 00:39

It's very unfortunate that the post-apartheid hero Barney Pityana and the likes of Mmusi Maimane, Lindiwe Mazibuko and Prince Mashele are hogging the headlines without raising any alternatives.

The current leadership of the ANC cannot be liked by those who wish for their past heroes to rise again.

Pityana, as a former side- kick of Steve Biko, wishes Biko was around so that he, too, could be recognis ed.

Pityana needs to come out of this closet to realise that the ANC government has tried hard to deliver to the millions of our people.

A bloated civil service exists in many countries. Our department of home affairs is efficient, SARS is in a class of its own, the judiciary is making progress and social services are being delivered to our people. Our banks are world-class, even though they charge an arm and a leg.

This country is not going to the dogs.

Like any developing nation, we have challenges, but the ANC accepts the shortcomings and we are going forward in delivering the better life for all.
