Overcharged for data: iLIVE

I found the column "Common sense not available" by Toby Shapshak (October 1) quite interesting.
Yes, trying to figure out how much you're ultimately going to pay once you've chosen a cellphone package is quite a daunting task, but the truth is that human nature is such that we do not really want to drill into the full details of the purchase process in this quagmire of information. We primarily choose the device we want and then secondary to that, we choose the package.
In the process, we don't consider call costs.
But when it comes to data costs, there is a great deal more that the networks need to do to create a more cost-effective model. As a heavy data user, I find the market charges exorbitantly . When you look at the cost of the package and the amount of data you get, it' s very pricey.
Data is quite a cash cow for the networks.
We're hoping that the new offerings will make sense to those of us who cannot live without the internet.
