Vavi must be careful when talking about the economy: iLIVE

So, Zwelinzima Vavi thinks it is fair to stoke striking workers' demands to get more than double inflation-linked wage increases, or face the destruction of our economy?

Seriously, Vavi, will this create more jobs for your union members, or will it only add to unemployment and poverty?

Are strikers not liable for damage to others' property?

Would the damages have happened had there not been a strikers' march?

Be very careful about threatening such economic revolutions - this could jeopardise your alliance with the ANC, which relies on a functioning economy.

You are toying with starting a potential civil war between the employed, prepared to fight to protect their jobs, and the unemployed.

Those with jobs should weigh up carefully the options of working in a developing economy for realistic wages or not working for anything but a revolution and the economy's inevitable collapse.

Think carefully, as I can guarantee that dramatic upheavals do not go as well as initially planned.
