Sisulu death blow to education fight: ILIVE

Siyanda Mhlongo, KwaDukuza | 09 October, 2012 00:13
Zwelakhe Sisulu. File photo.

Zwelakhe Sisulu, who was deeply involved in the struggle for "people's education for people's power", passed on when South Africa faces its worst crisis in education.

It is a pity that a democratic government has to be compelled by a court to deliver textbooks. Calls for President Jacob Zuma to expel Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga have fallen on deaf ears.

The state has failed Limpopo pupils and continues to turn them into a cheap labour force.

That is a dishonour to Sisulu by a government of the party that his parents led with dignity and integrity. Farewell, dear patriot.
