We are killing our democracy: iLIVE

Sibongile Dube, by e-mail | 17 October, 2012 00:20
An IFP supporter lies dead outside the Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court, north of Durban, yesterday. He was shot by a senior member of the IFP-breakaway National Freedom Party Picture: TEBOGO LETSIE

After reading "He talked peace then killed him", yesterday, I asked myself "why"?

The heads of both Inkatha and the National Freedom Party will sit down and enjoy tea as if nothing happened. The question is: Why are people on the ground killing each other? Why do we have to fight and risk our lives for people who don't even care about what is going on in our houses?

When are we going to learn? Tata Madiba gave us freedom but, instead of enjoying it, we are destroying ourselves.

Then we blame apartheid. It is ourselves we need to blame. We need to look in the mirror and see what we have become.
