Fifty-one houses were demolished on illegally procured government land in Lenasia South last week.

A court order has subsequently halted the process. While building on this land was illegal, why was it not halted when construction was taking place? Where were the building inspectors, and why didn't they stop proceedings? You can't built 51 houses overnight.
