I question why Eskom, which has a monopoly on power generation in the country, needs to spend money it purportedly does not have to place expensive advertisements during prime time television. Do we really need to know how good Eskom thinks it is?

It would be understandable if it was encouraging young people to be trained and employed, but simply to blow its own trumpet is a complete waste of energy and money.

A similar case would be SARS, which spends taxpayers' money on prime time adverts to tell us how well our taxes are spent when we well know how poorly our dear leaders in government manage their budgets.

FNB, on the other hand, needs to be congratulated on its efforts to tell our people how we can improve the lives of our youth and citizens of the future. Viva, FNB (I am not even a client of FNB).
