If a teacher is accused of raping a pupil, why is the case not taken to the police ("Unions soft on rape", February 11)?

It appeared from your article that the education department or unions and NGOs investigate the case.

This is one course of action that needs to be taken to have the teacher dismissed or stopped from teaching, but the main rape case needs to be dealt with in terms of the law.
