I object to SARS using my tax money to pay for bursaries.

First, I pay taxes for infrastructure development, which includes schools, universities, hospitals, roads, emergency services and heritage elements. I do not pay taxes to benefit individuals. I take great exception to SARS blatantly abusing my hard-earned funds by benefitting the few instead of the country.

Tertiary education is not a right, it is a privilege. Most of us have had folks who could not afford to send us to tertiary institutions, so we paid for it ourselves. We held two jobs while studying and spent five years after graduation paying back student loans. We did not rely on the taxpayer.

Do not get me wrong: dreams of tertiary education are good. I want my tax to go to infrastructure that will benefit millions, not the few.
