Dear Lord in Heaven – does it take decades to determine that a school’s name is inappropriate?

Black school principals certainly must have known all the time, so why now?

Look, people, I know that there is a lot of work to be done when you are a teacher – a proper teacher, that is – but informing the Department of Education about inappropriate names cannot take more than a few very short minutes.

Or is the truth rather that the system suffers the typical careless attitude that I experienced at schools in the Northern Cape Province?

A big, fat school principal, who must be called per cell phone to be informed that he has a visitor, strains out of his BMW and apologises because he was at his other school.

Other school? How so?

Oh, he’s principle of TWO schools!!

Dear reader, please take note -  we have a lot of cleansing to do in the Department of Education if ever we hope to get better results.

At the moment, such lousy teachers are being protected for political reasons, and not to improve our education system. And it’s going to continue for another couple of years if we don’t stand up to this hopeless ANC-dominated government.

Forget about being tagged as a racist – that does not hold anymore. Say your say, in the media and whenever the opportunity occurs. It’s about future generations, not petty politics.

Otherwise, we shall have more to worry about than Eskom.
