Sporting iconic Missoni motifs, the thong sandals are composed of leftover pieces of the Brazilian brand's multicoloured rubber flip flops, which are then put together to create various forms of zigzag patchwork.

One of the new models for 2012, the "Missoni Loves Havaianas Slim", is adorned with several jewel-style lucky charms and will be available in select retail outlets in mid-June for a price of 90 euros.

The strap, available in purple or black, is decorated with charms in the form of four-leaf clovers and ladybugs.

Last year, Missoni collaborated with another mass-market brand, US retailer Target, creating a 400-piece range with its signature zigzag patterns. The collaboration line, with many items priced at under $50, was so popular that it sold out almost immediately from retailers across the US.
