A seven year old girl from India had an operation to remove 202 teeth from her mouth after she complained about feeling a strange pain in her mouth.
According to the Times of India, doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, removed the 202 teeth-like denticles (abnormal teeth-like growth) after the girl said the swelling in her mouth was very painful.
The hospital said a businesswoman living in the Gurgaon area of the region brought in her daughter with swollen gums and severe pain.
Doctors said x-rays revealed she suffered from compound odontoma, a complex tumour composed of normal dental tissues that have grown in an irregular way.
The girl had to endure two hours of surgery to remove the extra teeth.
“Normally, we see a few abnormal teeth-like structures in such patients; 202 of them inside the mouth of a 7-year-old is shocking to say the least" Dr Ajoy Roychoudhary said.
