JM Coetzee looking to make it a hat trick with Man Booker nomination

Acclaimed South African-born author JM Coetzee is in line for another Man Booker Prize for Fiction‚ one of the literary world’s most coveted awards. Coetzee‚ a two-time winner‚ made the 2016 Man Booker longlist of 13 authors for his latest novel‚ The Schooldays of Jesus‚ a sequel to 2013’s The Childhood of Jesus. The list was announced on Wednesday.The £50 000 (R937 000) prize‚ is awarded to the best new fiction published in English between October 1 and September 30 each year.Coetzee previously won the prize in 1983 for the Life & Times of Michael K and again in 1999 for Disgrace‚ and was the recipient of the 2003 Nobel Prize in Literature.The full 2016 Man Booker Prize longlist is:Paul Beatty— The Sellout (published by Oneworld)J.M.
