Where were you born? Cape Town.

Where do you live? Constantia.

Who do you share your house with? My boyfriend Robin Fryer and our dog, Dax.

I am ... always thinking about what I should be doing.

How did you get into your career? I started off as an art director in the advertising industry. Then I wrote a proposal to e.tv for a new entertainment show and they hired me. In 2009, I started my own production company.

What do you tell people who say celebrity entertainment shows are frivolous? Change the channel.

What's the most memorable celeb interview you've done, and why? Pieter-Dirk Uys, for a number of reasons. I interviewed him for a documentary series called Behind The Name. He's open and unafraid to talk about his life. It was also memorable because he was one of my father's dental patients. My parents had worked on his teeth when my mom was pregnant with me (she was my father's nurse), so it was quite a strange thing to interview someone I had "met" before I was born.

Who is the world's biggest celebrity? Nelson Mandela. He has a pulling power second to none. He's also the only celebrity who other celebrities fall over themselves to meet.

What's the worst interview you've had to conduct? Avril Lavigne was pretty tough. She talks through her hair and doesn't make eye contact when she speaks.

The secret to interviewing a celebrity is ... not carrying notes. I like to ask one question and then let the rest of the interview flow.

If you could be any celebrity, who would you choose to be and why? Having seen first hand what most big stars go through in their daily lives, I'm happy to just be me.

What's your greatest extravagance? Food. I'm not much of a cook so I tend to spend money on expensive ingredients.

What's your most treasured possession? A Georg Jensen bracelet my dad gave to my mom that she gave to me after he died.

I'm predisposed to ... hating snails. My sister has a phobia about them and so do I.

What's your favourite building in Cape Town? My mom's house.

What's the ugliest thing about Cape Town? Shopping mall parking garages.

I can't go a day without ... sleep.

If your house caught fire, what would you save? I hate to be boring, but it would probably be old photographs.

What are your creature comforts? My Sex and the City box set. It has got me through every minor illness or ailment I've had in the past five years. It is my cure-all for everything. I also loan it out to my girlfriends when any of them is in a crisis.

What are you reading? The Pleasures and Sorrows of Work by Alain de Botton.

I collect ... printers letters, especially Ns and Rs. Actually, I collect anything with an N or an R on it. It sounds childish when I say it out loud, but it looks okay in our home.

My friends and I like ... putting on silly voices and acting out stories for each other.

If you made a movie about Cape Town, what would you call it? Forever Home.

Perfect happiness is: Not having any plans when I wake up in the morning.

Have you ever taken public transport in Cape Town? Yes, I went to the beach and it was much less stressful than driving.

Everything in moderation but ... scented candles. I am addicted to Yankee Candles.

I met my partner ... at an advertising party.

If money could buy happiness ... it would be easier to make people happy.

My little Black Book

This store has a great selection of vintage clothing mostly from the '60s, '70s and '80s at reasonable prices. Great retail therapy for a Sunday afternoon.
