Palin memoirs a hot bestseller

Though Sarah Palin's book will not be on sale until tomorrow, it is already the most talked-about book in the US, outselling Dan Brown and Stephen King in advance orders. As for the book tour, that looks suspiciously like a political campaign.

Palin will hit the road today to promote her autobiography, Going Rogue, kicking off with an interview with TV chat-show queen Oprah Winfrey.

Only 15 months ago, Palin was plucked from obscurity as governor of Alaska to be the presidential running mate of Senator John McCain. Now she has written what is set to a bestselling political memoir.

Her vice-presidential hopes might have ended in derision, but she is likely to have the last laugh. Some of her pages have been used to get her own back on McCain staffers whom, she claims, prevented her from delivering a concession speech on election night. - © The Times, London
