A report ranking the most pesticide-laden fruits and vegetables also offers a list of foods they dub the 'Clean 15', produce which carried the lowest amount of pesticides.

In the 8th edition of the Environmental Working Group's Shopper's Guide to Pesticides, researchers found that apples, celery and sweet bell peppers in the US carried the most insecticides and advised opting for the organic version of these fruits and veggies.

On the other end of the spectrum, here are the 15 cleanest foods that seem to be able to deflect agricultural toxins in the US:

Clean 15
1.    Onion

3.    Pineapples
4.    Avocado
5.    Cabbage
6.    Sweet peas
7.    Asparagus
8.    Mangoes
9.    Eggplant
