Africa Cellular Towers has secured their first full turnkey Eskom Power Line Contract.

The mandate is to replace the distribution and transmission line for Eskom CED (Capital Expansion Division) to the Komati Power Station, which is situated between Middelburg and Bethal in Mpumalanga, the company said in a statement.

"This project is more complex than normal and requires a quick turnaround time due to the impact late completion would have on other ongoing expansion projects around the power station," said Nick van der Mescht, General Manager of the Power Lines Division.

Chris Kruger, Chairman and CEO of ACTOWERS said the contract is an important milestone for the Power Lines Division.

"This project definitely gives us an opportunity to prove our stated capabilities to Eskom. With our improved BEE status and best-in-class team working on the project, we believe we are one step further to fulfilling our mission of becoming a leading player in the power line installation and supply industry," said Kruger.
