Citroën's C4 Picasso shows off its artistic flair

Every time I get into a Citroën, a sexy French lady's voice in my head says "Citroën, creative technology" - just like you hear it in the manufacturer's TV and radio commercials.

This automatically, makes me want to see the sexy in every Citroën.

When I saw my test car, my thought was that Citroën had failed in the sexy stakes.

The C4 Picasso is not bad looking, but at first glance it does not shout sexy.

But then I got inside and saw the sexiest feature of the C4 - it's steering wheel.

With a solid centre hub, it works a bit like an universal remote control. It has controls for an RDS (stereo/radio/MP3/CD) player, with both auxiliary and USB ports. It also has the cruise control and other fun knobs to play around with.

But the sexiest feature of all, is that the solid centre hub doesn't move - only the outer ring of the steering wheel does. It all gives you a real sense of futuristic fun.

What is more, the C4 has all the bells and whistles - airconditioning , electric windows, central locking and, best of all, the most comfortable seats around.

There are compartments throughout the whole car where you can store stuff.

The C4 Picasso comes in three models - the Attraction, Seduction, and a seven-seater Grand Picasso.

My test vehicle was a 1.6 litre Seduction - and as much as it is a mommy's car, it has such je ne sais quoi, that for a while I forgot I was driving a multipurpose vehicle (MPV).

The C4 Picasso is an all-rounder which performs well - and is quite light on fuel .

It is not only a great vehicle for the young, but also for the young at heart.

The only problem is that you have to invest in some strong sunblock.

A super-wide panoramic windscreen extends almost to the roof and it may be a visual dream, but it is your skin's worst nightmare because it exposes you to the sun a lot. A panoramic sunroof does not come standard, though.

The C4 Picasso's great LED front lights make vision at night a dream. If you want to drive down to the coast, or take a trip with the family to visit the grandparents, then this is the car you need.

The C4 Picasso is anything but boring, yet it does not forget its function. Maybe that sexy French lady won't speak to you all the time, but you are sure to hear her whisper those words, "Citroën, creative technology", every now and then.

So yes, Citroën has not lost its sexy X factor, especially with its C4 Picasso. You can pick one of these for R226565.
