If you have sales well in excess of one million for a particular generation of vehicle, and more awards than you care to remember, one would think you wouldn't want to tinker too much with the winning formula.

But Mercedes-Benz is never scared of being bold, so with the new addition to the C-Class range - dubbed the Style Edition - the manufacturer has added more than 2000 new components that distinguish it from the rest of the range.

The C-Class has been given a new bonnet - made of aluminium - and its contour in the area around the headlamps and the radiator grille emphasises the V-shape of the front end. As if that were not enough, the shape of the clear-lens headlamps, together with the radiator grille and bumper, has given the C-Class a completely new face.

The halogen headlamps are arranged in the classic way, with low beam on the outside, main beam on the inside and the indicators neatly arranged in the outer corner formed with the front wing.

Together with the new telematics generation, the new-generation C-Class comes complete with a fresh instrument cluster with integral display.

The C 180 BlueEfficiency model has a four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1796cc. This direct-injection engine has a power output of 115kW and 250Nm of torque, and an impressive CO2 emission value of 150g/km.

The five twin-spoke light alloy wheels on the C 180 Style Edition complement the overall styling of the vehicle, and gives an exclusive look. Other features on the Style Edition are the respected 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox and daytime running lights.

The prices: C 180 BlueEfficiency Sedan Style Edition R359000; C 200 BlueEfficiency Sedan Style Edition R379000; C 200 CDI BlueEfficienCY Sedan Style Edition R380000.
