What car do you drive?

I drive an Audi A4, which I use when I go out to functions; a Toyota Hilux, which is great to drive on the farm; and a Toyota Corolla that I hope will be used by our nanny when she gets her driver's licence.

What car would you buy if money were not an issue?

With age and fatherhood, a Bentley GT. It's a smart family car.

What's the fastest car you've ever driven?

I've been faster than I should have in the Audi A4 - I have a summons pending at the moment.

What's the worst thing you've ever done in your car?

I've thrown up out the window. It ran down the side of the car.

What was your first car?

A Chevy Colt. I was 16 years old and living in the US. It was a gift from a friend.

What's the furthest you've driven?

I've driven from North Carolina to South Beach, Miami, in the US. The trip took 18 hours. I've also driven from North Carolina to New York to have lunch with my girlfriend. It's a 14-hour journey.

What's playing on your iPod?

Janis Joplin, 50 Cent and John Legend.

What do you sing along to when driving?

My all-time favourite song, Janis Joplin's Summertime.

Would you drive a hybrid?

I would love to if they weren't so expensive. It's like solar heating - you have an initially expensive outlay.

Have you ever got out of a fine?

Yes. My face sometimes gets me out of fines.

Tell us about your first accident.

It was in the US. I totalled a friend's car, but I did the honourable thing and replaced it.
