Where did you spend your last holiday? In Immenstadt, Bavaria, the most southern part of Germany in the Alps.

What was the best thing you did while there? One of the best things was having a braai with a "little bit" of Bavarian beer and lots of different meats and salads.

Your favourite city abroad and why? Munich. I have visited there since I was a little boy and it was always a special event. Now when I go to Munich it feels a bit like going back in time.

What must a first-time visitor see there? The German Museum, Hofbräuhaus and the Viktualienmarkt (the food market). There are many old buildings and famous churches. I would rather go to one of Munich's beer gardens and enjoy life.

What should they not bother with? Visiting in winter. It is cold, ugly and frustrating.

What was your best holiday ever? The Seychelles. It feels like you are in paradise; the beaches are almost empty and the only risk is possibly being hit by a coconut - though I must say there are many coconuts. Then there is the food, and an abundance of fresh fish.

What was your worst holiday ever? A trip through Italy. We wanted to do a food trip but, before we left, we took some bad advice and got vaccinated against bird flu. The whole time we were on holiday we were sick from the vaccination.

What is the worst hotel you have stayed in? A hotel on the Island of Elba in Italy, which we found out used to be a hotel for "certain hours".

What is the best thing you have been given on holiday? I can't remember getting anything while on holiday, but I proposed to my girlfriend and she said yes. Strange.

Who would be your fantasy holiday companion and why? Homer Simpson. He likes beer, is quite relaxed and I would always be the better looking guy.

What do you avoid on holiday? I try not to complain about food or accommodation as it doesn't help me and the more you think about it the more it upsets you and ruins your holiday. It's much better to look back and laugh remembering those incidents.
