South Africans must change their sexual practices and accept responsibility in stopping the spread of HIV, DA leader Hellen Zille said yesterday.

"We must begin by challenging the notion that unprotected sex with multiple, intergenerational sexual partners is a cultural right. It is not," Zille said.

She said these sexual practices "wreak social devastation".

"It drives teenage pregnancy, poverty, disease, destroys families, and produces unwanted children."
