ANC offers to help Bob at polls

THE ANC has offered to help Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe's party win that country's elections.

ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe told delegates at a Zanu-PF national conference on Thursday that his party would assist Zimbabwe's ruling party retain power at the next elections.

"We are willing to assist in coming up with election messages and strategies that would deliver victory. You should now start sending the materials to us so that we could work on them and we add something to it," Mantashe said.

Secretaries-general of Southern Africa's former liberation movements were invited to address the conference.

While all other former liberation movements pledged solidarity with Zanu-PF, only the ANC offered to give assistance during elections.

Mantashe said: "The ANC wishes to affirm her commitment to being a good and trustworthy neighbour to this fellow liberation movement."

Zanu-PF spokesman Rugare Gumbo said: "That is a good gesture from our longtime friends and we would, as a party, look into the issue and work with ANC in the best possible manner."

Mantashe's remarks took many by surprise, especially because, on his last visit to Zimbabwe, he accused Zanu-PF of interfering in internal ANC politics by influencing ANC Youth League president Julius Malema.

The remarks also seem to contradict President Jacob Zuma's tough stance on Mugabe.

Zuma is the mediator between Zanu-PF and the two factions of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change.

Some politicians within Zanu-PF, such as Jonathan Moyo, have criticised Zuma's mediation team.

Awu!!! It is so amazing how ANC changes its tunes. Not long ago a child hacked to the DC for making comments about Botswana. Today the very prosecutor is making same comments. Is it because one is testing his muscles for Mangaung? Where is consistency or precedent system in the movement? Gwede must be hauled before the DC. Or is he a more member than the Youth League. Very pathetic of the ANC if it will be left lying on the floor.

So the ANC is quite happy with all the murders and lack of democracy in Zimbabwe. All the complaints about it propping up the rogue regime are now confirmed, as is it's forked tongue honest broker image.

I am shocked to learn that the Anc want to help Mugabe Stay in Power, while it is a fact that Mugabe and Zanu pf have play a crucial role during our own struggle.Mugabe has lost legitimacy to rule his country let alone to be considered as friend by the Anc he is the part of problem in Zimbabwe not solution i don't think the Anc understand the Social and economic consequences of having Mugabe as a president of Zimbabwe this mean another influx immigrants that are being by repression and economic hardship.

Did you know that in the 1970s MK actually fought against ZANU on the instruction of the SACP? Strange bedfellows this lot

Poor Bob he will need all the help he could get. I hope the MDC will get their act together and make an end to this disaster. The ANC must rather focus on their problems at home Gwede show leadership.

I agree "Gwede show leadership" in any case I thought Zim was a Sovereign state why then does it need the ANC to help it

So when does Gwede go before the DC?
Surely those comments are as detrimental as the podgy purple Pedi's were.

If ZANPF goes down it won,t be long before the ANC follow. So this is a self preservation move of the wily, corrupt and incompetent former liberation movement. Prop Mugabe up and you prevent a chain reaction. However ZANUPF lost the last one and they will loose this one as well.

Like the recent TV advert. Mugabe is the last of the big dictators. It's time for him to go or else suffer the same fate as his "friends". If cANCer wants to be on that sinking boat then so be it.

If this article does not show SA as to which way the ANC want to take this country, nothing else will. I say, RIP SA, hello Zimbabwe .... Time to get a new government that cares about governing, not a government that cares about succession. AnotherTaxpayer, Mugarbage is not the last dictator, we are currently breeding another ....

Like his buddies, Bob too will be found hiding in some dark hole in the ground before his own people donate the final bullet that takes down the last disgraced dictator.

If this is correct then the betrayal of everything the ANC stood for is rendered irrelevant. Freedom from tyrany is not the ANC's logo.

How dare the ANC interfere in the elections of another country and DICTATOR. Don`t the ANC FOOLS realize that they can taken be taken to or Charged by the International Courts. The opposition of Zim. must definitely get legal advice about the Biased position of the ANC and for interfering in there internal affairs. Malema got fired for trying to interfere with the Botswana Government and now the ANC is doing the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????????????
