Local authorities have yet to be told if Shrien Dewani's appeal against his extradition to South Africa has been successful.

In December, Dewani, accused of orchestrating the November 2010 murder of his wife Anni in Cape Town, appealed in London's High Court against the go-ahead for his extradition to South Africa.

A spokesman for the National Prosecuting Authority, Mthunzi Mhaga, said: "Judgment was reserved. All parties involved will be notified by the registrar of the court of the date when judgment will be delivered."

In August, the Belmarsh Magistrate's Court found that Dewani could be extradited to South Africa to stand trial.

The following month British Home Secretary Theresa May signed his extradition orders.

But Dewani's defence team launched an appeal arguing, among other things, that he was too ill to stand trial in South Africa.
