There were 31 accidents on Johannesburg roads during wet weather  on Thursday morning, the city’s metro police said.

Klipvalley Road in Soweto was flooded, said Chief Superintendent  Wayne Minnaar, who suggested that motorists use alternative routes such as Ncube drive or Chris Hani road.     Other roads were slippery and visibility was reduced.

“Motorists are advised to reduce speed, maintain a safe following distance and keep their headlights switched on,” said Minnaar.
